Here’s something more advertisers need to accept:

If you’re spending less than $1,000 a day, your results will probably be inconsistent.

That doesn’t automatically mean your campaign is broken.

It might simply mean your daily sample size is too small.

If you normally generate six sales per day and suddenly generate zero, it feels catastrophic. You just lost 100% of your daily revenue.

But if another advertiser normally generates 100 sales per day and drops to 94, they experienced the exact same difference: six sales.

To them, it’s normal variance.

To you, it feels like the entire business stopped working.

This applies to Meta, Google, TikTok and pretty much every performance channel. But I see it constantly in native advertising.

A campaign gets launched on Taboola or Outbrain.

Day one looks promising.

Day two is terrible.

Day three is average.

The advertiser panics, pauses half the ads, changes the landing page and cuts the campaign before the platform has collected enough meaningful data.

At lower spend levels, daily results are often statistically insignificant.

You need to zoom out.

Look at seven days instead of seven hours.

Look at blended CPA, conversion rate, funnel performance and contribution margin instead of obsessing over whether Tuesday was profitable.

Especially in native ads, where the algorithm has to explore different publishers, placements, audiences, creatives and landing-page combinations, volatility is part of the learning process.

That doesn’t mean you should blindly burn money.

It means you need predefined decision rules.

How much are you prepared to spend before evaluating an ad?

How many clicks does a landing page need before you judge it?

How many conversions do you need before making a meaningful CPA decision?

Without those rules, you’re not optimizing.

You’re reacting emotionally to noise.

And that’s how potentially profitable campaigns get killed before they ever have a chance to scale.
